Application of different types of aerators

1. Waterwheel aerator

Waterwheel aerator plays an important role in high-level ponds. Its main function is to make water form a circulating flow, and the sewage can be transferred back to the sewage outlet. It is one of the most commonly used aerators in high-level ponds. The waterwheel aerator can pump water up to 1.6 meters deep. When the water level in the shrimp pond does not exceed this level, it can keep the bottom water highly oxygenated. The quality of the waterwheel aerator mainly depends on the splash and water flow rate. Some bad machines have low splashes and slow water speeds, which waste electricity. Generally, if the floating bed of the waterwheel is deep, the machine load is high, and the splash will be low and slow. You can use foam plastic to raise the floating bed to reduce the load. If there are a lot of filamentous algae on the rope of the aerator, it will lower the rope, deepen the water level of the aerator, resulting in low splashes and slow water speeds, and it is easy to burn the motor due to overload. The waterwheel must be placed in a good position in the pond, otherwise it will leave a dead corner in the pond, and the bottom of that dead corner will be relatively dirty.

(2) Impeller Aerator

The impeller aerator draws water from the bottom to the top, and the suction generated can bring organic debris and other things from the bottom to the upper layer. Using the principle that the upper layer has relatively sufficient dissolved oxygen, it can be oxidized and decomposed to provide nutrients to the algae, while reducing the respiratory load of the water body. The continuous operation of the impeller makes the oxygen in the upper and lower layers as consistent as possible, especially at noon on a sunny day. Turning on the machine can allow the oxygen surplus in the upper layer to compensate for the oxygen value in the lower layer. However, the impeller aerator is not suitable for high-level pools because its rotation will interrupt the waterway.

(III) Air-suction jet machine

The working principle of the aspirated jet machine is to pump the oxygen-rich water from the upper layer to the bottom layer through its own pump, and at the same time the hollow shaft will continuously pressurize air into the water. This type of aerator is a very good choice for water depths exceeding 1.5 meters, and is generally only suitable for high-level pools.

(IV) Bottom Aerator

There are many ways to increase oxygen at the bottom, such as polyethylene tube aeration in Fujian and Chaoshan (using blowers, mostly Roots blowers), aeration stones, aeration plates, etc. The selection of aerators should be based on factors such as the size, depth, water quality of the fish pond, and the species of fish being farmed. Different aeration methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. It is necessary to select the appropriate aerator according to the actual situation to provide a good growth environment for fish.
